Community Seminar To Focus On Heroin Problem

heroin-symposium-twisc1_std.originalTomorrow night, parents and others concerned about the growth of heroin use in the Santa Clarita Valley will be able to get the pure stuff - the truth.

Nine Santa Clarita Valley young adults have died from using heroin in the last two years – more than those killed in auto accidents.

Now is the time for this community to get informed and become aware of the problem.

The City is offering a wake-up call with a free seminar at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The seminar will feature presentations from those with personal experience with the drug and its effects – ex-addicts, parents of children who died using, drug counselors, health care givers, law enforcement  -  and will be held in the Activities Center of the city’s sports complex on Centre Pointe Parkway.

Those attending are encouraged to bring their questions to the experts available.
