Having a garden in the summer sounds like a difficult task, especially when you consider the record breaking temperatures here in Santa Clarita.

One of the most important tips to keep your garden alive during the heat wave is to water your plants between five and eight a.m.. If you are frowning at the screen thinking of getting up that early to water your plants, never fear, you install a drip system that will start with a timer.

If you want to get rid of that watering can that hurts your arms or you are tired of dragging the hose around, a drip system is a great alternative to keep your garden happy and healthy. They are easy to put in your backyard and some connect directly to the hose. If you get a drip system that connects to the hose, then all you need to do is turn on the water.

If your plants are already dying it is not too late to save them. You can prune back the dead pieces of the plant and use fertilizer to revitalize the roots and bring it back.
