C.E.R.T. Refresher For Antelope And Santa Clarita Valley Residents
The Los Angeles County Fire and Sheriff Department is set to host a Community Emergency Response Training, C.E.R.T. refresher Saturday for the Antelope and Santa Clarita Valley team members.
The morning session will include lectures and tabletop exercises, and vendors will be on site selling disaster preparedness supplies. The afternoon sessions will include hands-on skills of search and rescue, fire fighting and cribbing, a technique used in vehicle extrication and urban search and rescue using various pieces of wood to secure an object so that trapped victims can be safely removed.

The training program, implemented by Los Angeles County Fire Department, is meant to further the process of citizens understanding their responsibility in preparing for disaster.
The day will begin at 8 a.m. at Lancaster City Park located at 10th St. West and Ave. K-8. After lunch, the refresher will resume at the North County Training Facility at 42110 6th St. West, Lancaster.
Individuals are advised to bring their C.E.R.T. kits, water, and snacks.
No RSVP is needed, all C.E.R.T. trained individuals of Antelope or Santa Clarita Valley are welcome to attend.
