Valencia Freshman Glen Lee Misses Cut For CIF State Golf Championship
Valencia freshman Glen Lee shot a 7-over par, 79, at the Brookside Golf Club and missed the cut for the CIF State Championship.
Lee was the only golfer from the Santa Clarita Valley in the CIF SCGA Tournament in Pasadena. He finished in a tie for 78th place.
La Jolla’s Ben Doyle won the SCGA Tournament in a two-hole playoff against Camarillo’s Johnny Ruiz and Country Day’s Anthony Paolucci. The three tied for first-place with 4-under par, 68s.
The top-eight golfers qualified for the state championship at Poppy Hills Golf Course in Pebble Beach.
In the NBA Finals, the Miami Heat took Game 1, 92-84, over the Dallas Mavericks. LeBron James scored 24 points and had nine rebounds for the Heat.
Game 2 is Thursday in Miami.
In baseball, the Dodgers beat the Colorado Rockies, 8-2, behind a four RBI day from Matt Kemp.
In other games, the Cardinals beat the Giants, 4-3, the Padres beat the Braves, 5-4, and the Marlins beat the Diamondbacks, 5-2.
The Nationals were 10-2 winners over the Phillies, the Pirates beat the Mets, 5-1, and the Astros beat the Cubs, 7-3.
In the American League, the Royals beat the Angels, 7-3. The Yankees beat the A’s 10-3, the Rays beat the Rangers, 5-4, and the Mariners beat the Orioles, 3-2.
The Tigers beat the Twins, 8-7, the Indians beat the Blue Jays, 6-3, and the White Sox beat the Red Sox, 10-7.
