Thousands Gather To Celebrate Cancer Victims And Survivors
Saturday was the day that thousands gathered to Central Park to celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer. Relay for Life of the Santa Clarita Valley, held by the American Cancer Society, proved to be a huge success.
With nearly 4,000 in attendance, the American Cancer Society was able to raise approximately $460,000. More than 130 teams registered to participate and of individual participants, 650 were cancer survivors.

The official 2011 Relay season closes on August 31 and they are hoping to raise a total of $600,000.
Today, Relay for Life of the Santa Clarita Valley broke their record for online donations this year with $196,016 raised.
All money raised benefits the American Cancer Society to fund cancer research and patient programs.
