Home Is Where The Heart Is For Hart At Home Program
The Hart School District has announced a 2011 academic program geared towards helping home-schooled children and their families.
As content standards become more challenging in grades 7-12, families can get support through the "Hart at Home" program to ensure that all college requirements are being met.
The Hart District will be a local resource that offers all materials and textbooks free of charge, one-on-one instructional support with highly qualified, fully credentialed teachers and optional online courses.

Students will also have the option of taking specialized courses at a Hart District school site, such as a laboratory science course. Some colleges require lab work that would be difficult to conduct at a home site.
Hart District Principal Pete Getz looks forward to assisting families with an educational alternative that will provide a unique, personalized learning opportunity for home school students.
“Our specialized Hart at Home program emphasizes individualized instruction, which we recognize is very highly valued by home school families,” Getz said.
Students who graduate from this program will receive a diploma from the Wm. S. Hart Union High School District, recognized as a high performing district in Los Angeles County and the state of California.
The program will open for students and families in the community in the fall of 2011.
