Mirror Mirror On The Wall
Once only considered a looking glass, mirrors today are used for a variety of design statements.
In today’s article I offer you, my treasured readers, some interesting uses for mirror décor inside and outside your home.
Group as a collection along with picture frames: The photo at left shows a lovely wall grouping with a combination of artwork and mirrors. The key to the success of this hanging is balance. Lay the arrangement on the floor first, to preview how it will hang on the wall.
Place a mirror at the top of a stairway in your home to draw up the energy (chi). This is an important Feng Shui remedy. The mirror can be small, behind a plant or large, as a focal point at the top of the stairs. Either way, you will benefit from good energy moving through the upper level of your home.
Place mirrors under candles on a sideboard in the dining room to reflect the warm glowing light. What is more romantic that candlelight? Any meal can be raised to a new level by taking the time to add candlelight, and you get double the light by reflecting the flame in the mirror.
Place an old mirror on a garden wall to reflect the color; beauty and light back to your home. I am a big fan of art in the garden. The walls of your garden a lovely canvas to create beauty outdoors. The best part is, the more weathered the mirror becomes, the more it adds to your garden's beauty!
