City Accepting First Pitch And National Anthem Entries For SCV Dodger Day
The City of Santa Clarita and the Dodger Day Committee are accepting first-pitch nominees and National Anthem auditions for the 34th Annual Santa Clarita Dodger Day. The winners will have the opportunity to showcase their singing or pitching talents at the Saturday, May 14 game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Auditions must be received at City Hall by Friday, April 15 at 5:00 p.m.
“Santa Clarita’s relationship with the Los Angeles Dodgers has been ongoing for three decades now and we are ecstatic to continue this annual event,” said Mayor Marsha McLean. “I encourage all of the City’s talented community members to take advantage of these exciting opportunities and send in their applications for Dodger Day.”

Vocalists interested in singing must submit a VHS Video Tape or DVD recording of themselves performing the National Anthem, along with a short biography and brief background of their singing experience. Submissions may not be recorded or edited in a recording studio. All required materials must be submitted to the City of Santa Clarita’s new Arts and Events Office at the Santa Clarita Activities Center, located at 20880 Center Pointe Parkway.
Nominees are also being accepted for one lucky resident to be recognized as a Santa Clarita Community Achiever and throw the first pitch at the 2011 game. Applications are available online at scvdodgerday.com/form.asp or in paper form at the Santa Clarita Aquatic Center, Santa Clarita City Hall, Hart Baseball, The Chamber of Commerce, The Signal Newspaper, or KHTS AM-1220 Radio Station.
Tickets can be purchased online or at the City’s Aquatic Center until 12 p.m., Friday, May 6. Discount prices are available to all Santa Clarita Valley residents and are as follows: Preferred Field VIP and Infield Loge Box ($45), Preferred Field Box ($35), Infield Reserve ($25), Lower Reserve ($15), and Right Field Pavilion (all you can eat ticke, $30). A portion of the money generated from this event will help support local schools and non-profit groups.
