It all started Sunday afternoon when the victim, allegedly Qualey’s girlfriend, was at her mother’s house with Qualey. During an argument with the mother, Qualey allegedly grabbed the mother’s arm and she suffered a cut to her lip.

When the daughter tried to break up the fight, she got punched in the mouth by Qualey, who then picked up a walking cane and started swinging. No one was hit by the cane, but Qualey fled the scene.

All was quiet until today, when Qualey was spotted near Sarabande Drive shortly after 12:30 p.m. and deputies took him into custody after a short foot pursuit, some of it uphill. Deputies detained him at gunpoint until he could be taken into custody.

He’s being held at Santa Clarita Valley sheriff’s station in lieu of $100,000 bail.
