The Family History Fair, an annual event sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and is open to all who would like to learn more about their past.

Workshops and classes range from the broad topics, such as How To Find Anyone On the Internet to the specific, with experts on British and Swedish records research. Bringing geneaology into the digital age, there are also sessions covering scanning photos, using multimedia to create your own presentation, and family history using your smartphone.

The LDS Church family history library maintains the world's largest repository of genealogical resources with vital records from more than 110 countries, territories and possessions.  There are over 4,500 local branches of the library (family history centers) in more than 70 countries.

Councilman Bob Kellar will be in attendance for the morning session.

"What a wonderful event to learn how to research your history and experience a feeling of belonging as you explore your family tree,” said Kellar. “This is an exciting opportunity for our community."
