The Joint Commission strives to continuously improve the safety and quality of health care provided to the public through the accreditation process.
During the unannounced on-site survey in July 2010, an expert team of Joint Commission surveyors examined standards of care specific to the needs of patients, ranging from infection prevention and control, to appropriate written abbreviations and medication management, to fire safety and emergency preparation.
“The outstanding accreditation is the result of our management team, employees, and medical staff's hard work and dedication to continually improve the care we provide for our community and to create a culture of excellence,” added Seaver.
The Joint Commission’s hospital standards address important functions relating to the care of patients and the management of hospitals. The standards are developed in consultation with health care experts, providers, measurement experts and patients.
