At that session, the commission voted to extend the public comment period from 90 to 150 days, thus having it expire on February 22.
The draft of the 8,000-page document contains both a General Plan and Environmental Impact Report. It includes guidelines for development in Santa Clarita as well as land within the City’s sphere of influence in unincorporated Los Angeles County, totaling approximately 53,000 acres.
Among other topics, it provides a 20-year overview for transportation, population growth and distribution, open space, resource preservation, air and water quality, public safety and the economy.
Other items on Tuesday’s agenda include AT&T’s bid to construct a telecommunications tower in Valencia’s Business Park as well as a retailer’s permit requests to operate two stores that re-sell precious metals and jewelry.
The meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall and is open to the public.
