City Approves Transportation Items, Honors Hart High Heroes
Tuesday's City Council meeting lasted just one hour and 20 minutes, with City Council members approving three items related to transportation and continuing the process of annexing the developed portions of the West Creek, Tesoro del Valle and Copperstone communities.
With Tuesday's vote, Council members moved forward with adding bike lanes to three streets in the Valencia Industrial Center, increasing sobriety checkpoints over the next few months and incorporating an updated passenger tallying system into the City's transit fleet.

The Council also agreed to adopt a resolution to extend the City's contract with six waste removal contractors for five more years.
A special moment came at the beginning of evening when the City honored three Hart High School staff members who responded two an on-campus stabbing in October. They were recognized for their part in sepearting the two female students involved, tending to the victim and for their quick response.
