One issue on the agenda seeks Council’s approval in naming that bridge “Soldiers Bridge” in honor of Santa Clarita residents who have lost their lives serving their country abroad.
Council will also vote on another item for increasing funds on the proposed improvements to the existing Golden Valley Road Bridge over State Route 14. The improvements include widening the bridge from two to four lanes.
Later in the evening, City Council will conduct a public hearing on whether or not to overturn the approval of a 99,000 square-foot commercial development near Newhall Avenue and Sierra Highway.
Council will also conduct a public hearing regarding guidelines for outdoor dining in the heart of downtown Newhall. The proposed ordinance would allow restaurants on Main Street to seat tables outside their businesses, provided guidelines for pedestrian safety and accessibility are followed.
The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at City Hall.
