Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected to continue across Los Angeles County today, capable of producing brief heavy rain, gusty winds, small hail and dangerous cloud-to-ground lightning. In addition local ponding of water is possible along roadways.
A low pressure system located around 200 miles west of the California-Mexico border will track slowly southeastward; this system has already generated numerous showers and thunderstorms across Southern and Central California today and is expected to continue to do so though Wednesday morning.

Some of the thunderstorms could be strong. Due to the convective nature of the precipitation as well as the fast storm motion, additional rainfall amounts will be highly variable but generally less than a half-inch. Snow levels are expected to be above resort levels across the local mountains. If a thunderstorm were to move across a recent burn area, there would be the slight possibility of a debris flow and mudslides.
