The Big Draw Comes to Santa Clarita
On October 7 the ARTree Community Arts Center will participate in an international event, The Big Draw, where residents come together to show their natural ability to draw.
The Big Draw launched in the United Kingdom in 2000 with 190 particpating locales, but has since grown to more than 1500 across the globe and includes 20 countries.

"The idea originated because they wanted to extend drawing to everyone so that one day the words 'I can't draw' would no longer be part of our vocabulary," said the ArTree's Scott Bruckner.
This is the first year the artists organization has participated in the event.
All attendees are encouraged to draw on a large canvas on Main Street.
"The key to this issue is allowing people to express themselves - to really find that they do have something creative."
The Big Draw will be included in the organization's monthly Art Walk, where artists display their work in shops and on the sidwalks on Main Street between 6th Street and Market Street.
Numerous streets musicians will be performing as well, and complimentary beverages will be provided inside some of the shops.
The event in Newhall takes place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and is free to all.
