Stonefire To Serve Giant Carrot Cake

khts_businessnews3A massive 10’ x 10’ carrot cake (the biggest on record) will serve as the centerpiece of a giant community celebration recognizing the 10th anniversary of Stonefire Grill, one of the most popular dining concepts today despite these times of frequent restaurant closures. The public is invited on a first-come, first-serve basis to join in the fun, which takes place at Stonefire Grill’s first restaurant in Valencia (23300 Cinema Drive) on Sunday, September 26 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

A $1 per person minimum donation is required to enjoy a menu of Mesquite BBQ Tri Tip, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, BBQ Chopped Salad, Breadsticks and, of course, Carrot Cake. Pepsi will supply soft drinks and bottled water, announced Mary Harrigan, who with her sister, Maureen, founded Stonefire Grill a decade ago.

Live entertainment will be provided by students from six area high schools: West Ranch, Hart, Golden Valley, Valencia, Saugus and Canyon. ROTC units from the high schools will help organize traffic and crowd control. Guests will form a line heading towards Bouquet Canyon Rd. before passing through the restaurant’s full service buffet lines.

T-shirts and Stonefire Grill gift cards will be given at random to those using Twitter, Facebook, Foursquare, YouTube and other social media to share their experience.

Harrigan, whose nephew, Brendan, is a 23-year-old survivor of the often-fatal lung disease, said that she hopes to raise $20,000 for the foundation that day.
