Denise Tomey and Heather Edwards from Carousel Ranch stopped by to speak about this equestrian-therapy riding program for children who have physical and mental challenges.
Carousel Ranch is a therapy-based program specializing in horseback therapy. Kids with various physical, cognitive and sensory disabilities benefit from this therapy - which is recognized by many medical professionals and therapists.
Approximately 90 kids per week benefit from the physical therapy they receive at Carousel Ranch. Three types of equestrian therapy are offered. Their programs include Vaulting (gymnastics on horseback), English and western riding. This therapy helps to improve strength, coordination and the rider’s self-esteem. The rider learns to face new challenges - which can help them physically and mentally producing favorable improvements in riders of all ages.
Carousel Ranch is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. Nobody is turned away. Fees are based on ability to pay and Carousel Ranch strives to offer scholarship assistance to those in need. Donations and fundraising events allow Carousel Ranch to continue providing this unique therapy to kids of all ages. Your generosity is appreciated.
