Betty Ferguson Foundation
On March 12 & 26, 2007 the KHTS Community Resource Station welcomed the Betty Ferguson Foundation. Kim Schafer, Marjanne Priest, Joyce Carsen, Jane Bettencourt-Soto and Doreen Hawbecker were featured on the KHTS Non Profit Spotlight hosted by Janice Murray , and sponsored by our friends at Valencia Acura.
The Betty Ferguson Foundation, an organization that is committed to supporting and promoting personal and professional growth in women and teen girls - was established in 1998. Betty Ferguson was the mother of Judy Cox, one of the foundation's founding members. Betty Ferguson passed away in 1996. Judy was going through her mother’s finances and discovered that she gave her money to women and youth organizations.
The Betty Ferguson Foundation continues to serve our community by hosting monthly women’s and teen girls' meetings, workshops, seminars, and a book club. They also support fellow non-profit organizations and provide educational scholarships to College of the Canyons. The foundation relies on individuals and corporate supporters for the funding necessary to host their seminars and workshops.
Their fundraising event ‘Vine to Wine’ takes place on Sunday, April 1, 2007 from 1pm to 4pm at the Bridgeport Lake Club.
