Samuel Dixon Center Patients To Get Flu Shot Vouchers
Samuel Dixon Family Health Centers, Inc. will be distributing 500 vouchers for free flu shots, courtesy of Direct Relief USA and CVS Caremark. The free flu shots are intended specifically for uninsured SDFHC patients through a partnership between Direct Relief USA and CVS Caremark to help ensure cost is not a barrier to preventive care, particularly during the flu season.
Beginning the week of September 20, CVS free flu shot vouchers will be available and can be redeemed at any CVS Pharmacy. The CVS pharmacies in Santa Clarita have different schedules; some require appointments. You can either call or go online to check the schedule and make an appointment. Visit www.cvs.com/flu or call (888) FLU-SHOT to find the nearest location. Vouchers will expire Dec. 31, 2010.

The Samuel Dixon Family Health Center was established in 1980 and named for long-time Val Verde resident and minister, the late Reverend Samuel Dixon. A not-for-profit community health center, SDFHC serves the greater Santa Clarita Valley, and is governed by a board of directors, all of whom are Santa Clarita residents. The mission of SDFHC is to enhance wellness by providing quality primary health care services and health education to unserved and underserved residents, with a special emphasis on serving the uninsured. Easily accessible services are available for the entire family in both English and Spanish. Medi-Cal, Blue Cross and Healthy Families are all accepted, and a sliding fee scale is offered, keeping health care affordable for all.
