City Council To Tackle Annexation Issues
City Council will have its first meeting in three weeks on Tuesday, where it will hear from the public on such as issues as the annexations of West Creek/Tesoro Del Valle and parts of Sand Canyon.
Council will also vote on whether to appropriate $20,000 toward a proposed community garden in Central Park.

The West Creek/Tesoro Valle area includes approximately 2,830 acres and 2,150 residencies in the northern part of the City of Santa Clarita, just west of San Francisquito Creek. Residents from these communities have expressed interest in City annexation for the past few years.
Council will hear from these residents and other members of the public at Tuesday’s meeting and likely make a final decision on September 28.
Council will also conduct a public hearing to annex 242.3 acres on the City’s southern border, which includes the Soledad Commons development as well as part of Robinson Ranch.
The members will also decide on an issue that is part of Mayor Weste’s Healthy Santa Clarita program.
After many residents expressed interest in the City’s plan to construct a community garden, Council will vote on Tuesday whether or not to spend $20,000 toward on irrigation system for a proposed half-acre garden in Central Park.
Tuesday’s meeting takes place at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall.
