Deputy Follows Tracks To Arrest Suspect
An alert deputy, using basic, primitive techniques, tracked down stolen property and a suspect who probably had something to do with a theft Monday morning in Val Verde.
Sheriff’s Parks Bureau Lt. John Anderson told KHTS that a break-in was reported at the Youth Activity League office in Val Verde Park early this morning. Among the items taken in the burglary were five new Dell computers and a printer.
Anderson said that one of the responding deputies took it upon himself to follow a set of footprints from the scene, which resulted in the arrest of at least one suspect.

“Detective Ortega tracked this guy using actual footprints, then he saw pieces of evidence along the way that allowed him to track across the wash and took him to the suspect,” Anderson said.
Val Verde resident Rafael Cisneros, 27, is behind bars for his part in the burglary. Some of the items taken in the burglary were recovered, but Anderson said that there are still items missing.
