UPDATED: Placerita Canyon Road Covered By Landslide
UPDATED 5:06 p.m. FRIDAY
One lane of Placerita Canyon Road is being used to funnel traffic past a landslide that covered Placerita Canyon Road with boulders as large as 4 1/2 feet high.
The California Highway Patrol is directing traffic through the affected area, which is approximately one mile east of the 14 Freeway, near the Placerita Nature Center.
Ranger Frank Hoffman from Placerita Nature Center said that some traffic is slowly being escorted through. The landslide did not affect anyone at the Center and no injuries have been reported.

It is not known what caused the landslide. There were no earthquakes reported in the area.
KHTS Photographer Will Davison, who is at the scene, reports that a section of the hillside on the south side of the road gave way and appears to be unstable. Also affected are power lines to the center and surrounding areas.
L.A. County Road Department is sending a skip loader to the area to help with cleanup.
