Vancouver took a 1-0 lead in the 57th minute on a goal by Amy Vermeulen. Davison tied the game four minutes later. Boquete put Buffalo ahead for the first time in the game three minutes after Davison tied the game.

In the consolation game of the W-League playoffs, the Hudson Valley Quickstrike Lady Blues beat the Atlanta Silverbacks, 3-0. Gabriela Demoner scored two goals for the Quickstrike Lady Blues.

In auto racing, Rich DeLong III of Santa Clarita snapped a four-race winless streak by winning the NASCAR Super Stocks race at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale on Saturday night. It was DeLong’s fifth win of the Super Stocks season. He opened the season with three wins in a row and leads the Super Stocks standings by 42 points over Brian Harrell of Riverside.

The Dodgers made some trade deadline acquisitions to make a playoff push. But the new-look Dodgers had the same old problems of not being able to score runs.

The Dodgers traded for pitcher Ted Lilly and second baseman Ryan Theriot from the Cubs in exchange for Blake DeWitt and a couple minor leaguers. The Dodgers also acquired reliever Octavio Dotel from the Pirates for James McDonald and outfield prospect Andrew Lambo before Saturday’s deadline.

Theriot and Scott Podsednik, who was traded to the Dodgers from the Chicago White Sox earlier in the week, were little help against the Giants on Sunday.

Theriot and Podsednik were a combined 1-for-8 in a 2-0 loss to the Giants. Matt Cain, the starter for the Giants, pitched into the eighth inning and gave up only four hits.

The Giants completed the sweep of the Dodgers over the weekend and knocked the Dodgers into fourth place in the National League West standings, eight games out of first place.

Speaking of first-place, the first-place Padres come to Dodger Stadium to start a four-game series tonight. It will be Hiroki Kuroda for the Dodgers against Clayton Richard for the Padres. Pregame starts at 6:30 on AM 1220, KHTS.

Lilly will make his Dodgers debut against the Padres on Tuesday.
