UPDATE: Crown Fire 100 Percent Contained, Roads Open

khts_fireengine5UPDATED 9:40 a.m. Tuesday

The Crown Fire is now 100 percent contained, all evacuations have been lifted and roads are open in the burn areas.

The fire burned 13,918 acres in Acton and Leona Valley/North Palmdale and fire crews remain on scene to treat any hot spot and perform mop up operations.

From the LA County Fire official website:

The Los Angeles County Fire Department and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department appreciate the cooperation of residents in complying with evacuation orders. First responders will continue to be working in the affected areas and firefighters will continue to construct lines, work on any remaining hot spots and patrol the area.

Crews from the Fire Department, Department of Water and Power, Edison, So Cal Gas, Public Works, and LA County Public Health will all be working throughout the area. Road speeds shall remain below posted speed limits to provide safe transportation for residents and working crews. Watch out for repairs.

The cause of the fire has also been determined to be accidental; two people changing a tire near the terminus of Anthony Road in Acton caused a spark that ignited nearby brush.
