The Dodgers lost a wild one, 7-5, to the San Francisco Giants last night. The Giants scored three runs in the top of the ninth inning to come from behind and hand the Dodgers their sixth loss in a row.

Dodgers starter Clayton Kershaw was ejected for hitting Aaron Rowand in the seventh inning. Dodgers manager Joe Torre was also ejected as was bench coach Bob Shaefer.

But the Giants mounted their comeback when Dodgers coach Don Mattingly was charged with making two visits to the mound when he went out to talk to Dodgers closer Jonathan Broxton. As a result, he had to take Broxton out of the game and bring in George Sherrill, who didn’t warm up properly. Sherrill gave up a two-run double to Andres Torres that gave the Giants a two-run lead.

More bad news for the Dodgers, Manny Ramirez is headed to the disabled list again. He was put on the 15-day DL with a right calf strain Tuesday and is not expected to return to the Dodgers lineup until sometime in mid-August.

The Dodgers and Giants conclude their three-game series tonight at Dodger Stadium. It will be Chad Billingsley for the Dodgers against Barry Zito for the Giants. Pregame starts at 6:30 on AM 1220, KHTS.
