Performing Arts Center Updates Plan For Schools
The Santa Clarita PAC will be updating its plans for K-12 Arts Education and Outreach Program for the coming year.
Since June 2008, the goal of the program has been to bring together leaders of school districts and community to advance an effort to explore the feasibility of creating partnerships that would provide a rich array of diverse art education opportunities to students.
The program will be having a special VIP meet and greet before Michael Bolton’s upcoming concert Thursday, August 21.
The special VIP meet and greet is $75 and attendees can meet Bolton and 100% of the proceeds will benefit the K-12 Arts Education Outreach Program.
Another event planned will bring a unique opportunity to students on wheels.
The Mary Pickford Institute for Film Education brings a complete mobile digital production unit equipped with iMac workstations, cameras, microphones to students.
Instructors guide students through the digital media creation process, as they create their own, unique video projects.
Other goals for the program are:
-Securing private foundation, city, state and federal grants
-Identifying potential advocates in the arts and entertainment communities
-Expanding ways to communicate the program’s vision and inform the public
-Developing existing and forming new relationships within the community with individual advocates, businesses, educational and parent and teachers organizations
