Hart No-Hits Granada Hills In Valley Invitational Baseball League Game
Three Hart pitchers combined to no-hit Granada Hills in a Valley Invitational Baseball League game.
Garrett Gooding, Cole Gasper and Alex Tenorio held Granada Hills hitless for seven innings and Hart won 8-0.
Gooding started the game and went three innings, striking out five and walking two. Gasper came in to relieve Gooding in the fourth and pitched two innings. He walked one before yielding to Tenorio, who pitched the final two innings of the game.
Hart scored six runs in the sixth inning to blow open the game. Dallas Bacon was 2-for-4 with a double. He drove in a run and scored a run.
Saugus beat Golden Valley, 10-3, scoring seven runs in the fourth inning. Golden Valley had a 3-1 lead in the third inning. Saugus scored two runs in the bottom of the third to tie the game.
Justin Sheehan, Dylan Freyre and Justin Donatella each drove in two runs for Saugus.
Tanner Swire was 2-for-2 and scored a run for Golden Valley.
West Ranch beat Chaminade, 4-3, in extra innings. Justin Hovis drove in the game-winning run in the top of the eighth inning. His groundout scored Aaron Watkins, who reached on a one-out single.
Valencia lost to Mission Valley, 5-1. Parker Greenberg was 2-for-3 and Chris Gimenez scored Valencia’s only run in the fifth inning.
Canyon lost to El Camino Real, 4-1.
In the College World Series, UCLA will open against Florida on Saturday in Omaha, Neb. UCLA is making its first appearance in the College World Series finals since 1997. The Bruins are seeded sixth in the College World Series. Florida is the third seed.
The Lakers have no room for error in the NBA Finals. They are down three games to two and need to win the next two games at Staples Center to beat the Celtics in the Finals.
The Lakers are coming off a 92-86 loss to the Celtics in Game 5.
Game 6 is tonight. Tip-off is scheduled for 6.
The Dodgers start a three-game series with the suddenly dangerous Cincinnati Reds. The Reds are in first place in the National League Central. The Dodgers have lost three games in a row, all to the Los Angeles Angels at Dodger Stadium.
Hiroki Kuroda gets the start for the Dodgers. The Reds will send Aaron Harang to the mound.
