McKeon Statement On North Korea Situation

Congressman Buck McKeon, the Ranking Member of the House Armed Services Committee, released the following statement after the House of Representatives voted to condemn North Korea for sinking the Republic of Korea Navy ship, the Cheonan:

“I’m deeply troubled by the repressive North Korean regime’s continued aggression toward its neighbor on the Korean Peninsula. Last week, an international report indicated a South Korean naval vessel was sunk by a torpedo launched from a North Korean submarine. This deliberate aggression, along with news today that the regime will sever all business, government, and communication ties with South Korea, should be addressed by the United States and international community immediately. I urge the Administration to take quick actions to defuse this increasingly tense situation.”
