Public Help Sought In Vehicle Burglaries
Detectives from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station Burglary and Theft team are seeking public assistance in identifying the man pictured here.
The man is believed to be responsible for a number of vehicle burglaries in the Stevenson Ranch area.
The suspect was captured on video surveillance checking door handles on vehicles parked in driveways on the 24900 block of Chicory Court, Stevenson Ranch.
The suspect wore a glove on one hand and a second suspect was seen waiting in the passenger seat of a black Mercedes Benz S-series, parked nearby.
The Santa Clarita Sheriff's Station offers a few tips to remind residents how they can reduce the likelihood of becoming a victim of burglary or theft.
- Remove all items of value, such as GPS devices, cell phones, computers, purses, checkbooks, and I-Pods if the vehicle will be parked in a driveway or on the roadway.
- Don't leave garage door openers in your cars when they are parked on the street or in the driveway.
- Use lights on timers or motion controlled lights in and around your property.
