Lane Closures Could Impact Cross Valley Traffic
The City of Santa Clarita will close lanes near the recently opened Cross Valley Connector due to a water main leak.
The number two and three lanes will be closed on the northbound side of Golden Valley Road north of Valley Center Drive starting Monday and continuing through Friday of next week.
The closure is to repair a small water leak that was found in a 16-inch pipe under the road.
The repairs, which are under warranty, are being done through the contractor who installed the pipe, said Hoon Hahn, Senior Engineer for the City.
The work is being done during daylight hours because the location of the problem is not clear and workers need to be able to see it.
"Water is bubbling up, but we don't know the exact problem yet," said Hahn.
The number two lane will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., while the number three lane will be closed all five days.
