Final City Council Race Ballots To Be Counted Wednesday
All remaining Vote By Mail and Provisional Ballots received by the City in the April 13 City Council election will be counted Wednesday morning at approximately 11 a.m.
The City of Santa Clarita has just issued this official statement:
"The City Clerk of the City of Santa Clarita has authorized that the Council Chambers, 23920 Valencia Blvd., 1st floor, Santa Clarita, is designated as the central place to count the remaining vote by mail and provisional ballots for the General Municipal Election which was held on Tuesday, April 13, 2010.
"The Ballot Board will convene on Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. and the counting of the ballots will take place on the same date at approximately 11:00 a.m. following the Ballot Board preparation for the counting."
Only 69 votes separate incumbent Councilmember Frank Ferry from challenger David Gauny and Six hundred forty-one ballots remain to be tabulated.
Some of the ballots needed to have signatures verified; the Los Angeles County Registrar's Office completed that process late last week, returning 215 provisional ballots, along with 36 vote by mail ballots that they examined.
