Deputies Arrest Two After Newhall Crash
Two men have been arrested for reportedly breaking into a locked storage cabinet inside a garage in Saugus.
Alejandro Diaz, 28, of Sylmar, and Luis Muro, 27, of San Fernando, allegedly stole chrome rims and stereo equipment from the garage on the 22000 block of Oakridge Drive, in Saugus.
A resident called deputies and reported that she caught the men taking the items from the cabinet.
The men fled the area in a car, but crashed into two parked cars near Market Street and Railroad Avenue, in Newhall.
A deputy in the area spotted the two suspects as they attempted to leave the scene of the accident and detained them.
The two men were taken to a local area hospital where they were treated for minor injuries and later released to deputies and arrested.
The pair were booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station on felony burglary charges.
Diaz was on felony parole and is being held without bail. Muro is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
