Canyon Faces Paramount In CIF Soccer Semifinal
The Canyon boys soccer team travels to Paramount in the CIF Southern Section Division III semifinals today. Canyon is coming off a 2-1 win over Great Oak.
Paramount, the San Gabriel League champions, beat Savanna, 2-1, in the quarterfinals.
In the other Division III semifinal game, Coachella Valley plays at Santa Ana Valley.
In college basketball, The Master's College men's basketball team lost to Fresno Pacific, 80-59, in the Golden State Athletic Conference season finale.
Everett Bryson scored 16 points off the bench to lead The Master's College.
The Master's College will face Azusa Pacific in the quarterfinals of the Golden State Athletic Conference tournament on Thursday.
The Master's College women ended their Golden State Athletic Conference schedule with an 81-69 win over Fresno Pacific. Erica Inge scored 16 points and had six assists for The Master's College. Annie Gillepsie poured in a team-high 20 points in the win.

The Master's College baseball team swept a double-header against San Diego Christian, winning the first game, 12-11, and 2-0 in the nightcap.
Steve Vranau went 4-for-5 and drove in four runs for The Master's College in the first game. He had a key two-run single in the bottom of the eighth to give his team a 12-8 lead. San Diego Christian rallied for three runs in the top of the ninth, but the rally came up a little short.
Zack Anderson pitched seven shutout innings and Caleb Mintz drove in both runs for The Master's College in the second game.
In college golf, the College of the Canyons men's team won a Western State Conference match shooting a 378 at Alisal Ranch in Solvang. COC won by three shots over Ventura College. Dominic Lingua led the way for COC with a 1-over 73.
In high school tennis, the Valencia boys lost to La Canada, 10-8, in a non-league match.
The Clippers edged the visiting Utah Jazz, 108-104, and nearly blew a 17-point lead. All five Clippers starter scored in double figures, led by Eric Gordon with 24. Baron Davis had 19 points and 12 assists and Chris Kaman added 18 points and 14 rebounds.
In hockey, now that the Olympics are over, it's back to the NHL grind. The Kings resume their season on the road against the Dallas Stars. The Kings are in fifth place in the Western Conference and won eight of their last 10 games before the Olympic break.
