In advance of Tuesday's storm, Los Angeles County officials had ordered residents in the burn areas of Acton to evacuate in anticipation of heavy rains, thunderstorms and low snow levels

To help with the evacuations, nearly a dozen deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley station went to Acton. The evacuations, which also took place in the Station Fire burn areas in La Crescenta and La Canada-Flintridge areas, were under command of the Crescenta Valley station.

In Acton, residents were evacuated in the 29000 through the 31000 blocks of Aliso Canyon Road in the Wagonwheel and Niles Ranch areas, as well as homes on Arrestre Canyon, Bootlegger Canyon, Heffner and Maryhill Roads in the Soledad Canyon area.

According to Nicole Nishida, public information officer for Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau in the storm response command post, 60 percent of the residents contacted Tuesday morning cooperated.

"This is phenomenal, because last time, we only had 25 percent of the people leaving," Nishida said. "I think they saw what happened during the last storm and a lot more residents are taking us seriously."

The evacuations were part of precautionary measures being taken by Coordinated Agency Recovery Effort
