Henry Mayo Hospital Turns To Backups After Power Outage
Update: Monday 2:30 p.m.
A power outage just after 11:30 Monday morning zapped the juice from roughly 3,200 customers initially, according to Southern California Edison Spokeswoman Anna Frutos-Sanchez.
Included in that initial outage was a portion of the Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital campus. The outage prompted a switch to backup energy sources, and the hospital continued to function.
Just a few minutes after the power went out, Edison had redirected the flow to bring many customers back online. However some still remain without power.
Crews are on scene working to repair the equipment failure that prompted the outage, and they expect to have power fully restored by 5:00 p.m.
