Four Foothill League Teams Prepare For CIF Girls Volleyball Playoffs

sportslocalThe CIF Southern Section girls volleyball playoffs begin today with four teams from the Foothill League in action.

The Valencia girls, winners of the Foothill League, will host Villa Park from the Century League in the first round of the Division I-A playoffs.


West Ranch is also at home and will play Calvary Chapel, the second place team from the Orange Coast League.


Hart is on the road and will play Laguna Beach, the champions of the Orange Coast League.

Saugus earned an at-large berth in the playoffs and will be on the road against Arroyo Grande, winners of the PAC 7 championship.

Dos Pueblos, the champions of the Channel League, are the top seed in the Division I-A bracket.

Santa Clarita Christian is in the Division V-AA playoffs as an at-large team and will face Shandon, the champions of the Coast Valley League, in the first round.

Pacifica Christian is the No. 1 seed in the Division V-AA playoffs.

In high school golf, the Hart girls team finished second in the CIF Southern Section Final at Mountain Meadows Golf Course in Pomona. The girls shot 385 as a team, 17 shots behind Torrance.

Hart's Brenna Carlson and Amanda Corr each shot a team best 2-over par 74.
