Not Your Typical Gifts

khts_inthecommunityAs the holiday season creeps in, more and more shoppers are becoming increasingly creative with their gift-giving to family and friends.

The Santa Clarita Valley Alternative Gift Fair can be the answer to your holiday shopping concerns.

This year's gift fair will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 7, and from noon until 3 p.m. Sunday, November 8.

The Alternative Gift Fair will be held in Spurling Hall at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 24901 Orchard Village Road, Santa Clarita

With the current economic climate, many are looking for more fulfilling and meaningful ways to honor family members and acknowledge friends and acquaintances.

During this holiday season shoppers are looking to stay within their budgets and not get lost in the frenzy and chaos that so frequently characterize holiday shopping.

The Santa Clarita Valley Alternative Gift Fair offers a way to avoid the stress of shopping while giving shoppers an opportunity to select unique and purposeful gifts and an opportunity to give back to the larger community.

"The Alternative Gift Fair is a different kind of shopping experience," says Mary Jo Higginbotham, chairperson of the event. "It's a non-profit response to consumerism, in a festival, market booth setting. The gifts you purchase always fit because they revolve around your loved ones and the issues you care about!"

"There are twice as many participating organizations this year, including the SCV Food Pantry, Angel Interfaith Network, New Leash on Life, Ten Thousand Villages, Hillside Homes for Children, and Episcopal Relief and Development," Higginbotham concluded.
