Child Fingerprinting Event Set For Friday
Assemblyman Smyth joins Sheriff's Department in event for kids.
Friday, October 30, will be all about keeping kids safe, as Assemblyman Cameron Smyth and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department join together for a child safety event.
From 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. kids from all across the Santa Clarita Valley are encouraged to stop by the Westfield Valencia Town Center near the Atrium for a free fingerprinting. Safety demonstrations will be put on by local deputies and patrol cars will be available for kids to tour.
Assemblyman Smyth will be on hand throughout the event helping to give out child safety kits. These kits have space for a child's fingerprints, a photo, and some critical information. Parents are directed to take the kits home, add a recent picture of their child, fill out the information, and store the kit in a safe place.
KHTS AM-1220 will also be conducting live broadcasts from the Community Resource Station, located at the entrance to the Atrium, near Forever 21.
The event aims to provide an opportunity for parents to prepare their children to be safe, especially right before Halloween.
