Valencia Girls Volleyball Team Takes Over First Place in Foothill League

sportslocalThe Valencia High girls volleyball team took sole possession of first place in the Foothill League with a three-game sweep over Hart. Katie Hank led the way for Valencia with 21 kills and 10 digs.

Hart's Jennie Long had a team-high eight kills.

 

Valencia is 6-1 in league play, followed by Hart at 5-2.

 

In other games, Saugus downed West Ranch in four games. Middle blocker Taylor Schubert had 10 kills and eight blocks and Jaclyn Clark had 11 kills and 10 digs for Saugus.

West Ranch's Hannah Orlandi led her team with 19 kills. Saugus and West Ranch each have 4-3 league records.

Canyon swept Golden Valley in three games. Khrista Prudencio had nine kills to lead Canyon.

Golden Valley's Sam Holcombe had a team-high nine kills.

The Santa Clarita Christian girls volleyball team swept Hillcrest Christian in three games. Natalie Keoshian led Santa Clarita Christian with eight kills.

In college soccer, The Master's College women's team got a goal from Emily Bruton in double overtime and beat Westmont, 2-1. Andie Reyes gave The Master's College a 1-0 lead early in the first half, but Westmont tied the game with under a minute to play in the second half.

It was the second win in a row for The Master's College women's soccer team.

The College of the Canyons women's soccer team got two goals from Natalie Quintanilla in her team's 3-1 win over L.A. Mission College.

In college volleyball, The Master's College women's team was swept by Concordia., the No. 4 ranked team in NAIA. Sarah Oskam had a team-high six kills for The Master's College.
