No. 20 The Master's College Women's Soccer Team Loses Second Straight Game

sportslocalThe Master's College women's soccer team has hit a little snag. The 20th-ranked Mustangs lost, 4-1, to Vanguard University on Saturday. It was the second loss in a row and the fourth loss in the past six games for The Master's College.

Vanguard jumped out to a 4-0 lead before The Master's College scored in the 88th minute. Sierra Goff broke up the shutout with a goal off a corner kick from Danielle Hollinger.

 

The Master's College men's soccer team didn't fare much better against Vanguard. The men's team, ranked 23rd in the NAIA, lost 2-0, and had its six-game winning streak snapped.

In college volleyball, The Master's College women's team was swept by Point Loma Nazarene and lost its 10th match in a row. Tanya Bekendam had a team-high six kills for The Master's College.

The College of the Canyons women's team swept Glendale College and won its third match in a row. Lindsey Wilcox had a team-high 14 kills in the match for COC, 3-1 in Western State Conference play.

In college golf, the College of the Canyons women's team finished second, eight shots off the lead to Bakersfield College, in a Western State Conference match at Robinson Ranch. Jennifer Kim shot a team-best 79 for COC.

In high school volleyball, the Santa Clarita Christian girls team lost in five games to Milken Community.
