City Gives Grants To Local Non-Profits
Organizations could receive funding for a number of options.
The City of Santa Clarita invites local non-profit organizations to apply for the City's Community Services Grant Program.
The Program designed to assist community-based, non-profit organizations with providing services to, or directly benefiting Santa Clarita residents.
The Community Services Grant Program awards grants up to $7,500 per community organization to fund one-time projects and program enhancements, pilot programs, capital expenditures and special supplies.
All community-based non-profit organizations providing services to Santa Clarita residents are eligible to apply for funds.
"The goal of the City's Community Services Grant Program is to encourage local organizations to partner with one another for community benefit," said Mayor Frank Ferry. "In this tough economy, local non-profit organizations that depend on donations, and federal and state funding are taking a huge hit. The City recognizes the need to band together with the local non-profit community to ensure these vital organizations can continue to provide their invaluable services to the local community."
Organizations applying for funds must have 501(c)3 status, or have an organization with 501(c)3 status as their co-sponsor and fiscal agent.
Funding will be given directly to the organization providing the services, programs and projects.
Successful grant recipients must plan to expend the awarded grant funding within one year of receipt.
Because the grants are available on a one-time only basis, the City cannot fund the same project request for an organization in the following year's grant program.
Requests that fund an organization's general operations and maintenance activities are not eligible for funding.
Applications for the City's Community Services Grant Program are available at the City's Sports Complex Activities Center, located at 20850 Centre Pointe Parkway.
All applications must be submitted on provided City forms and include the required Project Proposal Narrative.
All completed grant applications with required attachments must be received by the City on or before Friday, October 16 at 5 p.m.
Applications received after the deadline will not be considered for funding.
