The education services company recommended CalArts in its "Best in the West" list as part of its web feature 2010 Best Colleges: Region by Region. In the profile, The Princeton Review describes CalArts as having "a reputation of intensely training young artists to become working professionals."
The "Best in the West" list includes 123 institutions located in fifteen states: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.
