Deadly Week In Santa Clarita

Six deaths in four days shake up Santa Clarita.

For a normally quiet place like Santa Clarita, one death alone can send shockwaves through the community. However, last week brought an abnormally large number of deaths, with causes ranging from traffic accidents to health problems, and murders to still unsolved mysteries.

The first incident occurred Wednesday evening at 4:45 p.m. when an 85 year-old man was killed during a traffic accident on Vasquez Canyon Road. The vehicle veered off of the roadway and went down a hill. Full story

The next morning, an elderly man killed his wife and then himself in their Saugus home. The wife reportedly suffered from ongoing medical conditions.  Full story

The third incident was an especially tragic medical emergency involving an infant child Thursday afternoon.

At the beginning of rush hour Friday afternoon, a young man was killed after his motorcycle was involved in an accident with a vehicle on Sand Canyon Rd. Full story

Then, on Saturday morning, a man was found dead on Templin Highway near the I-5. The exact circumstances of his death are still a mystery; however Sheriff's homicide detectives are working to figure out what happened.
