--Loosen up those belts and get ready to dive in to taste bud heaven, at the 21st Annual “Taste of the Town,” Santa Clarita’s premiere food and wine tasting event!
Held from 1-5 p.m. Sunday at Mann Biomedical Park, guests will be able to get a sample of the best faire in town, as over 30 local restaurants, caterers, wine vendors and micro-brewers offer taste tests of all their delectable delights. Live entertainment and a silent auction will make this event far too scrumptious to skip! Be sure to say hello to the friendly faces of Carol Rock, Jon Dell and Sharon Bronson from AM 1220 KHTS while you’re there! Proceeds from this event will benefit the Child & Family Center’s mental health services.
--Reach for the stars Saturday, and drop by the Valencia Library as they celebrate “Astronomy Day at the Library,” a day of star-studded events for the whole family! Lasting from 1:00-9:00 p.m., you can join the local astronomy club, watch Galileo Galilei be brought to life, construct a telescope, and find out where you can observe a nighttime “star party.” So gather your family constellation and take part in this celestial celebration of your favorite sky in the world.
--This is the stuff fairy tales are made of! Head to the Canyon Theatre Guild Saturday for the Annual Junior Cabaret, this year themed, “Fairy Tale Cabaret.” Enjoy a petite buffet and be entertained by some of the most talented youth in Santa Clarita aged 18 and under! Set up as a cabaret-style performance of songs and dances, both silent and live auction items will be up for grabs, and all proceeds will benefit the CTG’s youth programs.
--Touch a life—and gain a treasure, as Circle of Hope presents the “Hometown Craft Fair” from 8 a.m.- 2 p.m. Sunday. Held at College of the Canyons, over 40 vendor booths will be set up with hand made and retail items for sale, and half of all proceeds will go towards Circle of Hope and the College of the Canyons Classified Senate.
-- This weekend is your last opportunity to catch The Repertory East Playhouse’s, “EVE-Olution,” a show about moms written by moms. Follow Alison and Liza through the daily struggle to juggle kids, career and marriage, all while trying to maintain the sense of self.
