UPDATE: BB Guns Cause Scare At Leona Cox Elementary

UPDATE: Wednesday, April 22 - 3:05 p.m.

Just after 2:30 this afternoon, the Santa Clarita Sheriff's station received a call with a second-hand report that an individual may have been spotted near Leona Cox Elementary school with a rifle.

Immediately the school was notified and put on lockdown. Sheriff's deputies converged on the area and were able to determine that the weapon spotted was only a BB gun, and that there was no harm intended.

The lockdown at the school has been lifted and parents are able to pick up their children.
