Small Time Burglar Cuts Small Cavity In Dental Office
A burglary got more than he bargained for early Tuesday morning when he broke a window to get into New Caring Quality Dentistry in Newhall and was quickly spotted by passersby who called the Sheriff.
Jose Cardena, 31, was taken into custody shortly after 4 a.m. after deputies responded to reports and an audible alarm ringing at the downtown Newhall business in the 24000 block of Main Street. Lt. Mark Hershey said that deputies found a trail of blood from the window to a refrigerator, which Cardena had rifled through.
Cardena was taken to the hospital for treatment of cuts before he was booked at the Santa Clarita Valley station. He remains in custody in lieu of $20,000 bail and is due in court on Thursday.
