“Striplin’s office has been very general about his goals, so far,” said Josh Premako, marketing and media specialist for Mellady Direct Marketing. “I’m sure he will talk about the vision he has for his position and the business community. It will tie in well with VIA and businesses involved.”
The monthly luncheon will also feature a spotlight on SCVTV, Santa Clarita Valley’s local television station.

Spotlights are typically on one of the sponsoring businesses and an opportunity time to learn about what they do in the community for business and news, Premako said.
The luncheon usually includes 100 – 150 guests. Reservations are required and seats may go fast since this is the first one of the year, and will include the new city manager, Premako said.
The Valencia Country Club will host the event, which will run from 11:30 a.m. until about 1:30 p.m.
Sponsors include Mellady Direct Marketing, the city of Santa Clarita, Poole & Shaffery, LLP, L/B/W Insurance & Financial Services Inc., SCVTV and KHTS.
Those who reserve by Thursday will pay $40, and reservations made from Jan. 4-10 cost $45. Non-members and those reserving after Jan. 10pay $50, if seats are still available. Those who attend without a reservation will pay an additional $10. Reservations can be made by calling the VIA office at (661) 294-8088, or through the VIA website.
