A Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputy was involved in a traffic collision while responding to a domestic violence call about 2:47 p.m., said Lieutenant Bill Weiss.

The deputy was driving south on Wiley Canyon Road and turning westbound onto Orchard Village Road when the front left side of his vehicle was struck, Weiss said.

“I don’t know the extent of damage to the vehicles,” Weiss said. “The deputy and one or two occupants in the other vehicle were transported to a hospital, at least for precautionary reasons.”            

The extent of the injuries seem minor to moderate, and the cause of the accident is still being investigated, Weiss said.

The incident marks the third deputy-involved collision in as many months.
