Undefeated Hart Faces West Ranch In Foothill League Opener In Boys Basketball

The Hart boys basketball team plays West Ranch in the Foothill League opener, a match-up of two top teams in the recently released CIF Southern Section polls.

Hart, undefeated at 16-0, is the No. 1 team in the Division 3AAA rankings. West Ranch, at 10-4 and coming off a two-point loss to Village Christian, the reigning CIF State Division V champion, is ranked No. 2 in the Division 1A rankings.

The game is at Hart High. Tip-off is set for 6:30.

The Valencia boys basketball team, ranked No. 10 in the Division 1A rankings, plays Saugus in the Foothill League opener for both teams.

The Vikings have won two games in a row, including 58-44 over Chatsworth at College of the Canyons on Saturday.

The Centurions are 10-7 and looking to snap a four-game losing streak. The game is at Valencia High.

The Canyon boys play Golden Valley to open Foothill League play tonight.

The Canyon girls, No. 6 in the Division 2AA rankings, is on the road against Golden Valley for their Foothill League opener.

The Valencia girls, ranked No. 11 in the Division 1AA poll, plays Saugus, the No. 15 team in Division 2A, tonight.

The Hart girls play West Ranch.                                                                           

In high school soccer, the Saugus girls, ranked No. 2 in Division 2 and undefeated at 15-0, plays Valencia in the Foothill League opener.

The Hart girls travel to West Ranch. The Canyon girls host Golden Valley.

On the boys side, Hart, ranked No. 4 in Division 4, plays West Ranch. The Saugus boys are on the road against Valencia. The Canyon boys play Golden Valley.

In college football, Alabama won the BCS championship game in a blowout, 42-14, over Notre Dame in Miami.

The Crimson Tide won its third BCS title in the past four years. Running back Eddie Lacy won the MVP of the game. He scored two touchdowns and rushed for 140 yards on 20 carries.
